Hopper Feeders

A hopper feeder opens and spreads material. It is applied for materials such as flax, tow, wool, hemp, rags, cotton, etc.

Through uniform feeding, the machine will increase washing, tow-scutching, drying, carding, waste cleaning, breaking, etc. efficiency.

A conveyor belt with pins moves the fibres to a front comb opening the material. The fibres thus combed off fall onto the raw fibres to be mixed. A uniform layer is formed on the conveyor, which is combed off at the back by the rear comb. Both user settable, the speed of the belt and the number of revolutions of the front comb can be synchronised for an improved discharge pattern.

Zig Zag

The Zig Zag can separate different density materials. The range of applications is very wide; for example separation of seed, shives and roots in the flax industry but also separation of paper, glass, dust, plastic, etc. in the recycling industry.

A screw divides the material over the entire width of the machine. A fan aspirated the lighter fraction on top of the Zig Zag column. The heavier particles fall out at the bottom.

Seed breakers

This machine is used in the flax industry to break the seed balls, to retrieve flax seeds and to remove roots and rocks.

The breaker is composed of a sieve and a drum. The rotating drum is equipped with brushes that break the material and rub it against the sieve.  The fraction falling through the sieves is ready for further processing in a seed cleaning unit. Rocks and roots can not pass through the sieve and are evacuated at the exit of the machine.

Balers

Processed fibres can be pressed into square bales. In most of the cases Van Dommele takes care of the transport of the fibres towards the press and sister company Valvan Baling Systems looks for the baling press itself.

Unrolling units for flax

The unroller is designed to unroll bales of scutched flax with a diameter up to 600mm and a width of max. 800mm. The straps are removed by a special winding system. Underneath the machine an even layer of flax is formed, ready for further processing.

Elevators, belt and screw conveyors, weighing units, etc....

Next to equipment for pneumatic transport, Van Dommele also builds machines for internal (mechanical) transport. For example: elevators, conveyor belts (with or without weighing unit), screw conveyors, etc...
